RCMP intercepts five drivers for alcohol-related incidents in 12 hours

Halifax District RCMP intercepted five drivers between 3 p.m. on August 14 and 3 a.m. on August 15 for alcohol-related offences in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Two people were arrested with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance, one person was arrested for Refusal to Comply with a Demand and two people were issued driving suspensions due to their blood alcohol concentration.

Impaired driving continues to be an ongoing issue on Nova Scotia roadways. The Nova Scotia RCMP would like to remind motorists that if you plan to consume alcohol or cannabis, please plan for a safe ride home. If you believe someone is driving impaired, please call​ 911​ with as many details as possible, such as location, direction of travel, vehicle description and licence plate number.
