Traffic Delay – Parade in Downtown Halifax

Details: This is for the Grand Emancipation Parade. It will be a rolling parade with no official street closures.

Date: Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021.

Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: The parade will begin at Queens Landing, then head west on Prince Street, north on Granville Street, east on George Street, north on Upper Water Street, west on Duke Street, south on Argyle Street, stop at Grand Parade, west on Carmichael Street, north on Brunswick Street, north-west on Gottingen Street, west on Cogswell Street, then end at the Commons (Emera Oval).​

Traffic impact: Traffic delays are expected as the parade travels through the community. The event will be escorted and traffic controlled by Halifax Regional Police. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
