New Glasgow Regional Police/Trenton Fire Department investigating house fire-seeking information from the public.

New Glasgow Regional Police are continuing to investigate a fire that occurred at a vacant residence on Main Street, Trenton.

The fire was reported in the early morning hours of Tuesday July 28, 2021, at 2:20am, while police officers were on routine patrol.

The vacant residence sustained extensive fire and smoke damage.

Main Street, Trenton from High Street to Forge Street was closed to traffic in both directions for over five hours.

New Glasgow Regional Police, Trenton Fire Department, Stellarton Fire Department, New Glasgow Fire Department, Abercrombie Fire Department and Pictou Landing Fire Department Emergency Health Services attended.

New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit, Trenton Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Marshal, are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and it is too premature to determine the cause of the fire at this time.

New Glasgow Regional Police are currently on scene and will be on scene throughout the evening.

The New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information that may assist in the investigation.

Police are also asking the public to check residential camera footage, dash cams, and other video devices that may assist investigators in solving this crime.
