“This is the dry hydrant in Beaver Bank located at Tucker Lake. There are no fire hydrants in North Beaver Bank so when there is an emergency and lots of water is needed, this is where we get it. We understand this is also a great spot for fishing and swimming in the summer, and skating in the winter, but we ask that everyone obey the “No Parking sign”. And it’s not just in front of the hydrant it’s also on the approach to the hydrant.

Last week Beaver Bank had 3 brush fires, one that required large amounts of water. When vehicles are parked here it makes it very difficult to get access to the hydrant and every minute counts! Changing our water supply plan or waiting for people to move can take up valuable time during house or brush fires.

On behalf of the Beaver Bank Fire Department and the community, please respect this no parking sign.

Stay safe!”
