Police investigate shooting on the 111 Highway near exit 6 in Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police Patrol members responded to another incident this evening for shots fired shortly after midnight.
A Halifax Regional Police patrol officer was very close to the area completing proactive neighborhood patrols and heard the gunshots.
Other patrol members were coordinated and contained the immediate area. A portion of the Highway was shut down as officers located several spent shell casings on the roadway.
Members of the General Investigative Section as well as Forensic Identification Section are also involved in the investigation.
At this time, there are no reports of injuries or damages to nearby property and there is no ongoing concern for the public.
Police were onscene for a period of time, but have now cleared the scene and re-opened the Highway.
