**** Truro Police Release
The Truro Police Service issued several tickets under the Health Protection Act in the past 24 hours.
A 25 year old male from Dartmouth was charged with violating the travel restrictions and issued a ticket under section 71(1)(b) Health Protection Act, and in a separate incident two, 22 year old males from Halifax were charged with violating section 71(1)(b) Health Protection Act. The fine for failing to follow travel restrictions $2422.
A 21 year old male from the Truro area was also charged with violating section 71(1)(a) of the Health Protection Act for failing to comply with public health regulations and issued a ticket for $2422.
A Truro business, and one of its employees were also charged with failing to comply with public health regulations.
The business owner was issued a ticket under section 71(1)(a) Health Protection Act which carries a fine of $11,622 and the employee was charged with failing to comply with public health regulations, section 71(1)(b) of the Health Protection Act and each fined $2422.
We will not be naming the business in violation as this matter is before the courts.
We want to remind the public that the public health regulations are in place to protect us all.
