Note: Each week the local listings are expanded and updated. During the week new and updated tasks are added. Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.

HANTS COUNTY: Falmouth Connector, Highway 101, Falmouth
Falmouth Connector, Falmouth, westbound on the on and off-ramps at Exit 7/Highway 101, is closed for road work until further notice.
Detour via Highway 101.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trunk 4, Broadway/Highway 104 Overpass
Due to ongoing twinning on Highway 104, there will be a road closure on Trunk 4 at Broadway/Highway 104 Overpass until Monday, May 17. Local traffic can access Broadway via Exit 27 or Exit 29 from Highway 104.
Signs and traffic control will be in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant
Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove
Peggys Point Road, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, will be reduced to one lane until Wednesday, June 30.
Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz
A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.
The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until mid-summer.
The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by fall.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103
Highway 103, between Exit 9 and 10, will have alternating lane closures for road work until Wednesday, June 30.
Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103, Camperdown School Road, Camperdown
Highway 103, from Camperdown School Road, Camperdown, to Queens County line, will have alternating lane closures for repaving and upgrading until Saturday, July 31.
Traffic controls consist of stop and go traffic. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, Eastbound Lanes
Highway 104, eastbound lanes between Exit 20 and 21, will be reduced to one lane for road work until Tuesday, August 31.
Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 104, Port Hawkesbury
Highway 104, Port Hawkesbury, 880 metres west of Exit 44, will be reduced for about 2.7 kilometres westerly to one lane for paving until Saturday, July 31.
Traffic control will be on site. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Road Construction – Commodore Drive
Location: Commodore Drive, from Eileen Stubbs Avenue to Highway 118
Date: Friday, May 14
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delays – Portland Street & Alderney Drive
Location: Portland Street between Alderney Drive and Prince Street and Alderney Drive near Portland Street
Date: Wednesday, May 12
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Nova Scotia Power will be replacing underground cables in the area
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place on both Portland Street and Alderney Drive while work is underway. The sidewalk on the east side of Portland Street, between Alderney Drive and Prince Street, will also be closed while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be on site to direct motorists and pedestrian traffic around the work site as necessary. Local access will be maintained at all times. Motorists are asked to take alternate routes whenever possible

Road Construction – Sandy Run
Location: Sandy Run, from Thompson to White Hills runs
Date: Tuesday, May 11
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This work is for repairs to traffic calming speed tables
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Akerley Boulevard
Location: Akerley Boulevard between Windmill Road and Joseph Zatzman Drive
Date: Monday, May 10 and Tuesday May 11
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Gottingen Street
Location: Gottingen Street, between North and Almon Streets
Date: Monday, May 10 to Friday, June 25
Time: Crews will be on-site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day, including some weekends as needed
Work details: This work is to facilitate concrete curb, gutter repairs, and asphalt paving.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Both sidewalks will be closed intermittently. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Main Avenue
Location: Main Avenue, between Hillcrest Street and Homeward Avenue
Date: Saturday, May 8 (rain date Sunday May 9)
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Installation of a new utility pole
Traffic impact: One lane of traffic with stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Public Service Announcement
Road Closure – Brigadoon Avenue and Mount Edward Road
Location: 32 Brigadoon Avenue to the intersection of Mount Edward Road
Date: Saturday, May 8 to Sunday, May 9
Time: 8 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday
Work details: This work is for the replacement of a water valve chamber
Traffic impact: 32 Brigadoon Avenue to the intersection of Mount Edward Road will be closed from 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, until 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 9. The closure will be in effect overnight Saturday. Marked detours and barricades will be in place. Local traffic access will be maintained, however, the intersection of Brigadoon Avenue and Mount Edward Road will be closed.
The sidewalk near 85 Mount Edward Road will be closed while work is underway. Sidewalk closure signage will be in place, and pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.
Halifax Transit routes will be on detour throughout the duration of the work. More information can be found here, or by contacting 311.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Spring Garden Road
Location: Spring Garden Road, between South Park Street and Dresden Row
Date: Sunday, May 9
Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Work details: Crane required to lift equipment onto the roof of the Nelson Place building.
Traffic impact: Spring Garden Road, between South Park Street and Dresden Row, will be closed while work is underway. Local traffic access for Brenton Street will be maintained from the Dresden Row end.
The sidewalk on the north side of Spring Garden Road from South Park to Dresden Row will also be closed. The south side of the sidewalk will remain open. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – South Park Street
Location: South Park Street, between Spring Garden Road and Clyde Street
Date: Monday, April 19
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: Crane work to lift material onto a building roof patio
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. The north side bike lane, in front of 1445 South Park Street, will be closed around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Construction during COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.
