RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime investigating injured child

On April 16, 2021, Lunenburg District RCMP received a report from a local hospital regarding a child in medical distress. Police began an investigation and determined that the child, a two-year-old girl, had sustained life-threatening injuries and was being airlifted from a hospital in Bridgewater to the IWK hospital in Halifax. The child required emergency treatment for her injuries at the IWK ICU.

The RCMP’s Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit has assumed the lead in the investigation and are being assisted by the Lunenburg District and Halifax District RCMP. The investigation is ongoing.
