**** Cape Breton Police Release
Speeding is never worth the risk.
Limits are carefully set for the safety of everyone using the roadway; driving too fast reduces your reaction time and creates danger. It can also lead to other aggressive behaviours like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and failing to yield to the right of way.
Speed enforcement is on our radar this month during Project “Safe Spring,” along with the proper use of ATVs. We’re paying extra attention to your driving habits, in both motor vehicles and off-road vehicles.
A first offence for exceeding the speed limit by just 1-15 km/hr is $237.50.
Slow down, follow the limits and obey the laws in place to help keep all road users safe.
