THE ROYAL NOVA SCOTIA INTERNATIONAL TATTOO PRESENTS “THE SPIRIT OF NOVA SCOTIA VIRTUAL WORLD TOUR 2021”
The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo will tour the world virtually this summer presenting a series of geo-gated online shows in select territories across the globe.
The Tattoo will partner with Nova Scotian and British Columbian tech company Side Door, who specialize in distributing online performances that provide audience management services and interactive concert experiences for the ticket holders.
The Tattoo’s 2021 theme is “The Spirit of Nova Scotia” and will celebrate, commemorate, and honour Nova Scotia and its diverse people past, present, and future. The production will showcase Nova Scotian and international talent.
“Given the current restrictions and the uncertainties surrounding when they may be lifted, it is not feasible to present the Tattoo at Scotiabank Centre in 2021,” says Scott Long, Managing Director and Executive Producer of the Tattoo. Long said that the decision to pivot to a virtual production was not only about health and safety guidelines but also about protecting the viability of the Tattoo for the long term.
“Things are looking up, but we are not where we need to be just yet. There is still too much risk. We are confident that by next summer we’ll be able to welcome performers and audiences from around the world back to the Scotiabank Centre. Until then, we’ll gather safely online.”
Video capture for the virtual world tour will take place in various venues across the province throughout the spring and early summer and limited tickets will be made available for socially distanced live studio audience participation when possible pending venue, capacity, and other restrictions.
