RCMP respond to snowmobile collision

Colchester District RCMP responded to a snowmobile collision that resulted in a closure of Hwy 104.

On March 8, at approximately 10:50 a.m. Colchester District RCMP were called to a snowmobile collision near Londonderry.​ Overnight, two snowmobilers were finishing a ride and made plans to meet the next morning. The first snowmobiler awoke and realized that their friend had not made back to camp last night. The first snowmobiler began looking for his friend and found him approximately 10 miles away.​ The victim, a 23-year-old male from Enfield had collided with trees and was seriously injured.​ The first snowmobiler transported his friend to a location near HWY 104 where he was met by EHS and Police.

HWY 104 was closed between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. close to the toll plaza to allow EHS to airlift the victim to the QEII hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
