Halifax Regional Police would like to provide some information to interested citizens on how to access their historical street check data

General Intrests

**** HRP Media Release

In response to community feedback asking us to inform interested citizens on how to access their historical street check data, Halifax Regional Police would like to provide some information.

As recommended in Dr. Scot Wortley’s 2019 report, HRP no longer retains existing historical street check records. Data is retained in its de-identified form, which means no personal identifiers are attached.

Data will be kept in this de-identified form indefinitely for research purposes only, as per Dr. Wortley’ recommendation.

Anyone who is interested in obtaining their personal information that they believe may be contained in these historical records can use Halifax Regional Police’s FOIPOP process. There is no cost for obtaining personal information. For more details visit: http://bit.ly/2JKjR7d
