Cannabis products seized from unlicensed storefront

On December 23, police searched five unlicensed cannabis storefront on Caldwell Rd. in Cole Harbour.​

On December 23, as a result of the unlicensed cannabis storefront continuing to operate and not voluntarily ceasing operations, police attended the property and conducted a search of the unlicensed cannabis storefront under the federal Cannabis Act.

significant quantity of cannabis, including cannabis edibles, and cash were seized. 

Nine people have been arrested under the Cannabis Act and are facing the following charges:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Distribution of Cannabis
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Possession for the Purpose of Distributing Cannabis
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Unlawfully Selling Cannabis
  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Unauthorized Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling it.

The investigation is ongoing.

Nova Scotia RCMP is continuing to employ a measured approach, which includes consultation with the stakeholders, to address the unlicensed sale of cannabis in the community.

Increasing complaints and concerns about the products being sold and the potential sale to youth prompted the police action at these storefronts. Our goal is to have the unlicensed storefronts cease operations.
