COVID-19 Update – Halifax Public Libraries Closure Notice

Halifax Public Libraries will​ temporarily close all branches, with the​ exception​ of Sheet Harbour Public Library,​ for in-person services​ effective 12:00am Wednesday, November 25, 2020​ due to an increase of COVID-19​ cases in​ Central Zone,​ Nova Scotia.​ All​ branches will offer​ Curbside Pick-up service. This service will be available during each library’s regular​ open hours.​

All​ Book Drops​ remain open. Holds​ can be placed on physical items.​ Existing​ holds and new holds​ will​ be​ available​ for pick-up through Curbside Pick-up. No items​ that are currently on our hold shelves will expire before this coming weekend.​ All​ loan periods​ remain the same.

As always, the Library will continue to adapt services so that our community continues to have safe and reliable​ access to library services. Check out the Library’s​ Curbside Pick-up​ service for contactless pick-up, community members can continue to enjoy​ Online Events by viewing the​ What’s On​ section of​ the Library’s website,​ access to​ E-Library resources​ continue to be​ available.​ The​ Ask the Library​ phone line, 902-490-5753,​ is available to answer questions, or by calling any library branch during its regular open hours.​

The Library continues to be here for you during this temporary closure period.
