Police investigate stabbing

Police are investigating a recent stabbing​ that​ occurred in​ North Kentville.

On November 1 at approximately 8:40 a.m.,​ Kings District RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on North Ave. A preliminary investigation​ determined that an altercation took place between three individuals who are​ known to each other.

Michael Ephraium Reade, a 24-year-old man​ of North Kentville, stabbed​ a​ 61-year-old man and​ attempted to stab a 33-year-old woman before fleeing the home. The victim was transported to hospital​ with serious non-life-threatening injuries. Police located Reade lying in a field near the home in an unknown state of medical distress. He​ was transported by EHS to hospital.

Reade remains​ in custody and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on December 1 to face the following charges:

  • ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Failure to Comply with Court Order

The investigation is ongoing.
