Update: Reports of shots fired
Halifax District RCMP has determined that reports of shots fired in the Haliburton Heights, Hubley and Glen Arbour areas this afternoon were not substantiated.
An extensive search of the area by police with assistance from the RCMPNS Emergency Response Team and Halifax Regional Police determined there was no threat to the public.
Halifax District RCMP wishes to the thank the residents for following police warnings to stay indoors.

Halifax Regional Police are receiving information from multiple media outlets that there have been comments on social media regarding possible “shots fired” near Connaught Avenue, Halifax this afternoon. Please be advised that this information has been investigated and was determined to be as a result of public confusion surrounding the Public Alert issued this afternoon by the RCMP and where recipients were located when they received the Alert. There is no information regarding a weapons complaint on or near Connaught Avenue, Halifax at this time.
