Assault and attempted robbery – Dartmouth 

On August 29, 2020 at 7:58 pm Halifax Regional Police received a call of three people fighting on the street in 30-40 block of Woodlawn Rd, Dartmouth.​

When officers arrived all three persons were located.​ After investigating the incident officers learned that a man and a woman were walking and were approached by the male suspect.​ The suspect asked for a cigarette and when he was told by the man and woman they didn’t have one he demanded cash from them.​ They could not provide cash to the man and started to walk away.​ The man then ​ slapped and punched the other male in the back of the head.​

The 18 year old suspect was arrested without incident and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court to face two counts of Robbery.​

The male and female victims were not injured during the incident.

Man arrested for property damage attempted to disarm arresting officer in Halifax 

On August 29, 2020 at 8:30 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a man in the 60-70 block of Stratford Way, Halifax that was trying to destroy a structure portion of a building.​

When officers arrived they located the man.​ Officers placed the man under arrest for property damage however he did not comply.​ The man struggled with officers and during the struggle he attempted to disarm one of the officers of both a firearm and a Conductive Electrical Weapon.​

The attempts were unsuccessful and officers were able to take the man into custody.​

A 41 year old man will be appearing in Halifax Provincial Court on August 31, 2020 to face two counts of attempting of disarm a police officer, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer and property damage.
