Police Investigate a Weapons Call – Dartmouth
At 10:13 p.m. on the 30th of May, Halifax Regional Police responded to a disturbance inside the hallway of an apartment building in the 0-50 block of Primrose Street Dartmouth. Patrol officers located three adults (two males and one female) in the hallway in physical altercation.
Officers arrested both males (both are 45 years old) at the scene for weapons offences. The two males each used a weapon during the physical altercation. The first male used a large flashlight and the second male used a hatchet (small axe). Officers confirmed all three adults are known to each and a heated argument began in the hallway, which quickly turned violent. All three adults sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries. All involved were treated by Emergency Health Services Paramedics.
This afternoon investigators with Patrol and the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a search Warrant for an apartment in the building. Police are no longer on site.
Both male Suspects were released on an Undertaking with conditions and a Dartmouth Court date. The two suspects are facing the following Criminal Code charges:
- Suspect #1 – Assault with a Weapon (flashlight).
- Suspect #2 – Assault with a Weapons (hatchet), Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
