In photos – The Halifax Explosion remembered. Ceremonies at Fort Needham, HRFE STN 4 and in Dartmouth (not pictures) took place today under a bright sun to remember the devastating tragedy that hit Halifax 106 years ago, levelling the city.
Many lives were lost or changed after the largest manmade explosion (before the creation of the atomic bomb)
For firefighters, they remember the fallen which included firefighters responding to the chaotic disaster.
