In photos – HRP with 52 eager shoppers hit up the HSC for a day of shopping!

HRP officers became personal shoppers to 52 local children as they set out for a special shopping spree.

Each child received a $200 gift card donated by Halifax Shopping Centre, a stocking filled with goodies and a new winter coat from Sport Chek.

In the spirit of giving, they also received a $10 gift card to help pay it forward; the CopShop participant purchased a gift for a child the same age, which the mall will then donate to the Salvation Army Toy Drive.

Also, players from the Halifax Mooseheads joinied officers to assist with the shopping.

There has been a partnership between the hockey team and police service since 1994 with the One-on-One program, which pairs a player with a police officer to act as a positive role model and support them as required.
