Hammonds Plains man arrested following head-on collision

Halifax District RCMP arrested a Hammonds Plains man following in a head on collision in Hammonds Plains.

At 5:15 p.m. on June 7, Halifax District RCMP responded to a head-on collision involving two vehicles on Hammonds Plains Rd near Yankeetown Rd.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a silver car crossed the center line and struck a red car travelling in the oncoming lane. Information was provided to police that the silver car was travelling in a dangerous manner prior to the collision.

The occupants of the red car, an adult woman and two children were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the silver car was also transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 25-year-old man of Hammonds Plains, was later arrested without incident for Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.  He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on November 30, at 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
