GoodLife and Fit4less response for COVID-19

The Covid Chronicle

***** Goodlife / Fit4less Releases

With the well-being of our Members, Associates & our community in mind we have made the difficult but important decision to close all GoodLife Fitness Clubs across Canada, effective immediately.

We continue to be committed to the well-being of our Associates, including those who will be without work during the closure. We have made the decision to continue to pay all of our people for the next two weeks to help lessen the financial burden of this tremendous change. We look forward to welcoming them all back when we reopen.

All Member payments are being suspended as of Tuesday March 17 and any paid-in-full Memberships will be put on freeze until further notice and expiry dates will be extended accordingly.

Please check www.goodlifefitness.com for updates as they become available.

We look forward to reopening our doors as soon as possible and welcoming everyone back. In the meantime, take care of yourself and each other.

During times of uncertainty as we are seeing with the outbreak of COVID-19 it is understandable that many of us feel an increased level of concern around protecting our health and the health of our families and communities. Recognizing this, we wanted to share some of the preventative steps Fit4Less is taking to ensure our facilities continue to meet and exceed the strict cleanliness standards that our members have come to expect.

What is Fit4Less doing?

Cleaners using hospital-grade cleaning solutions will be in our clubs every day to ensure our clubs are sanitized as thoroughly as possible;
Fit4Less is following the recommendation of every major public health agency, including the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), to encourage all members, Hosts and Managers to regularly wash their hands using water and soap which is available at all of our clubs, as this is most effective in preventing the spread of germs;
Industry-leading cleaning solutions which are designed for healthcare settings are also located throughout each club location for our members and Hosts to wipe down equipment before and after each use
What can members do?
Wash your hands regularly with soap and water for 20 seconds minimum;
Use the cleaning solutions and paper towels provided to wipe down equipment before and after each use;
Limit physical contact with other members whenever possible (ie. high fives, handshakes etc.)
If you are feeling unwell we encourage you to take a break from the gym and, if necessary, speak to your healthcare professional if you have symptoms that include fever, cough and difficulty breathing

The health and safety of our members, Hosts, and Managers is the most important thing to us. We know that accurate information from reputable sources plays a very important role in ensuring the health and safety of everyone in our clubs.

One of our key focuses right now is ensuring that our sanitization procedures are as thorough as possible and that we are providing our members, Hosts and Managers with best practices in hand washing and respiratory hygiene.

Should new recommendations be shared by public health experts, we will reevaluate and update our procedures where needed.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to speak with the Manager of your club or one of our Hosts.
