We recently received this orphaned young American Red Squirrel that turned out to have a broken front leg. He seems content with the level of health care he’s receiving.
Did you know that squirrels make mushroom jerky? Mushrooms are a favourite treat for squirrels, and as they are preparing food for the winter they have been known to pluck them from the ground and then hang them out to dry on tree branches before eating them!
