The Halifax Regional Municipality continues to monitor and respond to the rapidly evolving effects of COVID-19.

The municipality is committed to taking important steps in reducing spread of COVID-19.

Based on decisions made by the province of Nova Scotia yesterday, all customer service centres and Planning & Development counter services are closed to the public effective immediately. Staff at the centres will continue to work, focusing on administrative support that does not involve face-to-face customer service.

Residents are encouraged to use the municipality’s online services via halifax.ca, including:

  • Pay property taxes
  • Pay parking tickets
  • Report an issue to 311

An online service to receive construction permit applications is under development and will be operational early next week.
