Final update: RCMP officers have taken the man into custody safely. The power was temporarily turned off to work towards a peaceful resolution. It will be turned back on shortly.
Investigators remain at the scene, continuing with the investigation.

Update: An RCMP Crisis Negotiation Team is engaged and attempts to establish contact with the man continue.
At this time, we ask residents who remain in the area of Parr St., between Charlotte St. and George St., to stay inside their homes as a precaution.

Update: Officers have arrested 2 people, who attempted to gain entry, for Obstruction, and a third who was inside the home and exited.
The immediate area remains closed. Officers are working toward a peaceful resolution and continue their efforts to establish communications with the man that remains inside the home.
Please avoid the area.

RCMP in Shelburne on Parr St responding to a report of an armed person inside a home
Parr St is closed between George St and Charlotte St. Avoid the area. Immediate neighbours have been advised by officers at the scene and are being evacuated.
We are not considering an emergency alert at this time. If the situation changes, we will issue an emergency alert.
