Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Street Closure – Burnside Drive
Location: Burnside Drive, between Akerley Boulevard and Wright Avenue
Date: April 29, 2024 to June 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is needed to support the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Burnside Drive.
Traffic impact: Detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians.orists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge
Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road
Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge.
Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place.
Halifax Transit will be re-routed and the following stops will be closed:
- Hornes Road at civic 12 (2221)
- Hornes Road at civic 42 (2222)
- Hornes Road at civic 74 (2223)
- Hornes Road after Cow Bay Road (7147)
- Caldwell Road after Hornes Road (8663)
- Hornes road after Scott Drive (8662)
- Hornes Road at civic 41 (8661)
- Hornes Road at civic 65 (8660)

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Belle Street, Abbington Avenue and Larry Uteck Boulevard
Location: Intersection of Belle Street, Abbington Avenue and Larry Uteck Boulevard
Date: Beginning Friday, July 12 and lasting for approximately one month
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Work details: This is to facilitate upgrades to the roadway and pedestrian infrastructure to the intersection.
Impact: Two lanes of traffic will be maintained with the use of an altered center line. Slow moving traffic is to be expected.
The following bus stops will be closed for the duration of the construction.

Road Closure – LeMarchant Street
Location: LeMarchant Street, from Watt Street to Coburg Road
Date: Thursday, August 1 to Friday, August 30 (weekdays)
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate asphalt repairs. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Local access will be maintained. Detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Wyse Road, between Albro Lake Road and Boland Street
Date: Thursday, August 1
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: North Street, between Gladstone and Robie streets
Date: Thursday, August 1 to Friday, August 2
Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (overnight work)
Work details: This is to facilitate pavement maintenance. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be stop-and-go traffic in this area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Construction – Intersection of Chebucto Road & Dublin Street
Location: Intersection of Chebucto Road and Dublin Street
Date: Thursday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop and go will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Almon Street, between Robie and Windsor Streets
Date: Wednesday, July 31 to Friday, August 16
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate road and sidewalk repair. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic Impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained with an altered centreline in place. The sidewalk on the north side between Gladstone Street and Windsor Street will be closed. Detours will be in place for pedestrians. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Pockwock Road, from Hammonds Plains Road to White Hills Run
Date: Wednesday, July 31 to Thursday, August 1
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: This work is related to repairing shoulders.
Traffic impact: The road will be reduced to two lanes while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Bell Road, between Robie Street and Summer Street
Date: Tuesday, August 6 until Saturday, August 10

Work details: This work is to facilitate underground infrastructure for the Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project.
Traffic impact: Traffic control personnel will be on-site to direct both pedestrian and vehicular traffic while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate the excavation for sidewalks and bike lanes, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: An altered centreline will be in place while work is underway. Two way traffic will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street
Location: Oxford Street, from Jubilee Road to Coburg Road
Date: Friday, July 26 to Friday, August. 2 (weekdays only)
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 a.m.
Work details: This is required for gas service installation.
Traffic impact: Lane drops and stop and go traffic control will be in place while work is underway. Sidewalk access will be limited to one side of the road. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Bell Road, from Trollope Street to Sackville Street
Date: July 28
Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Details: This is to facilitate the Downtown Horse Show.

Location: Highway 7, from Old Trunk 7 Road and Brooks Drive.
Date: July 29 to December 15
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (weekdays only)

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 106
Highway 106 between Exit 2 and Highway 104, about 7.2 kilometres, will be reduced to one lane for the installation of rumble strips beginning Monday, July 29.
Completion is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 2.
Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Traffic control is on-site.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Dunmore Road, Dunmore
Dunmore Road is closed from Marsh Cross Road to Blacksmith Valley Road until Monday, September 30, to replace Dunmore Brook Bridge.
A detour is in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104
Highway 104 from the Exit 38 eastbound off-ramp to 300 metres west of the Trunk 4 underpass is reduced to one lane for paving until Wednesday, July 31.
Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Traffic control is on-site.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Barrachois Harbour Bridge, Barrachois Harbour
The Barrachois Harbour Bridge, on Route 223 near Long Island Road, is reduced to one lane for bridge work until Thursday, August 8. The maximum width for loads in the open lane is three metres.
Traffic signals are in place. The lane is closed 24 hours a day.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Kenwood Drive, Sydney River
Kenwood Drive from Oceanview Drive to Kings Road will be closed for construction of a roundabout until Saturday, August 24.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road from the Kennedy Hill intersection to Cross Road in North River is closed until further notice because of a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 366
A section of Route 366 is closed because of a culvert failure. Only local traffic is allowed from East Amherst to Port Howe. A detour is available via Trunk 6.
The culvert is expected to be replaced this summer.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 near Exit 4C has regular lane closures and construction in both directions until Saturday, August 31, for construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange.
Work takes place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the southbound lanes. Traffic control is on-site. Both lanes will be open in the evening and overnight.
Motorists should expect delays and should use alternative routes when possible.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange), Halifax
Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street will continue until further notice.
Traffic control is on-site.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Cameron Road, Orangedale
Cameron Road from Orangedale Road westerly to Southwest Ashfield Road will have alternating lane closures for gravelling, ditching and culvert repairs until Saturday, August 17.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105, Glendale to River Denys
The section of Highway 105 from Exit 2 to Exit 3 is reduced to one lane for paving until Saturday, August 31.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place on weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

PICTOU COUNTY: Route 348, Sunnybrae
Route 348 from the Pictou–Guysborough county line northerly for seven kilometres is reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, August 30.
Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Traffic control is on-site.

PICTOU COUNTY: Trunk 4, Telford
Trunk 4 between civic numbers 8532 and 8628 will be closed for culvert replacement until Monday, July 29.
A detour is in place via Route 245 (Shore Road) and Lamont Road. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour and use caution when travelling near the construction zone.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
The Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

RICHMOND COUNTY: St. Peters Fourchu Road, Saint Esprit
St. Peters Fourchu Road will have alternating lane closures for repaving until Monday, September 30.

Highway 103 from Exit 24 easterly for about 7.9 kilometres will have alternating lane closures for paving until Thursday, August 1.
