Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Street Closure – Burnside Drive
Location: Burnside Drive, between Akerley Boulevard and Wright Avenue
Date: April 29, 2024 to June 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is needed to support the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Burnside Drive.
Traffic impact: Detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians.orists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge
Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road
Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge.
Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place.
Halifax Transit will be re-routed and the following stops will be closed:
- Hornes Road at civic 12 (2221)
- Hornes Road at civic 42 (2222)
- Hornes Road at civic 74 (2223)
- Hornes Road after Cow Bay Road (7147)
- Caldwell Road after Hornes Road (8663)
- Hornes road after Scott Drive (8662)

Location: Cowie Hill Road, from Peter Saulnier Drive to Chebucto Heights School
Date: Monday, July 15 until Friday, August 30
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work includes asphalt repair which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Marked detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible.

Traffic Delay – Halifax Pride Parade
Location: Beginning on Cogswell Street at the Halifax Common and ending at Garrison Grounds.
Date: Saturday, July 20
Time: Noon to 3 p.m.
Details: This is to facilitate the Halifax Pride Parade
Traffic impact: The parade will begin on Cogswell Street at the Halifax Common. Parade will travel down Cogswell Street, continue through the roundabout, move south on Ahern Avenue, continue on Bell Road, move west onto Sackville Street, south on Summer Street, continue east onto Spring Garden Road, move north on Brunswick Street, west on Sackville Street, continue north on Bell Road and finish at Garrison Grounds.
Traffic delays are expected as the parade travels through the parade route. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Intersection of Gaston Road and Portland Street
Date: Friday, July 19
Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Work Details: This work includes a gas line installation and permanent asphalt reinstatement.
Traffic Impact: This will be a one-way street closure. North-bound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe
Location: Joseph Howe Drive Ramp (Bedford Highway to Joseph Howe Drive)
Date: Monday, July 15
Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work details: This is required for survey work.
Traffic impact: One-way traffic will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Intersection of Belle Street, Abbington Avenue and Larry Uteck Boulevard
Location: Intersection of Belle Street, Abbington Avenue and Larry Uteck Boulevard
Date: Beginning Friday, July 12 and lasting for approximately one month
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Work details: This is to facilitate upgrades to the roadway and pedestrian infrastructure to the intersection.
Impact: Two lanes of traffic will be maintained with the use of an altered center line. Slow moving traffic is to be expected.
The following bus stops will be closed for the duration of the construction.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Dunmore Road, Dunmore
Dunmore Road is closed from Marsh Cross Road to Blacksmith Valley Road until Monday, September 30, to replace Dunmore Brook Bridge.
A detour is in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104
Highway 104 from the Exit 38 eastbound off-ramp to 300 metres west of the Trunk 4 underpass is reduced to one lane for paving until Wednesday, July 31.
Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Traffic control is on-site.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Barrachois Harbour Bridge, Barrachois Harbour
The Barrachois Harbour Bridge, on Route 223 near Long Island Road, is reduced to one lane for bridge work until Thursday, August 8. The maximum width for loads in the open lane is three metres.
Traffic signals are in place. The lane is closed 24 hours a day.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Kenwood Drive, Sydney River
Kenwood Drive from Oceanview Drive to Kings Road will be closed for construction of a roundabout until Saturday, August 24.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road from the Kennedy Hill intersection to Cross Road in North River is closed until further notice because of a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 366
A section of Route 366 is closed because of a culvert failure. Only local traffic is allowed from East Amherst to Port Howe. A detour is available via Trunk 6.
The culvert is expected to be replaced this summer.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16, Lincolnville
Trunk 16, from 0.2 kilometres north of Old Monastery Road to 1.4 kilometres north of the Lincolnville loop, will have alternating lane closures for paving and shouldering until Wednesday, July 31.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 near Exit 4C has regular lane closures and construction in both directions until Saturday, August 31, for construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange.
Work takes place weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the northbound lanes and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the southbound lanes. Traffic control is on-site. Both lanes will be open in the evening and overnight.
Motorists should expect delays and should use alternative routes when possible.

Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street will continue until further notice.

Millsville Road between civic numbers 1300 and 1684 (near Old Bell Lane) is closed for culvert replacement until Friday, July 19.

Route 348 from the Pictou–Guysborough county line northerly for seven kilometres is reduced to one lane for paving until Friday, August 30.
