New Glasgow Regional Police lift the Shelter in Place and continue to search for 33-year-old Christopher McKay.

Update via Amherst Police:

Amherst Police have arrested a man wanted on a Canada-Wide Warrant who was also the subject of several media alerts to the public by the New Glasgow Regional Police Service. The male is also facing weapons charges and charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Thirty-three year old Christopher McKay was arrested at approximately 2:06am as a result of a traffic stop on Willow Street in Amherst NS. McKay was a passenger in the vehicle and was recognized by Police. During the arrest, a loaded firearm and drugs were also located.

McKay has been returned to the custody of Corrections Canada and will be scheduled to appear in court at a late date to answer to the new charges

Christopher McKay. (the 33-year-old male Christopher McKay, described as a white male 5 foot 7, 200 pounds, short hair with neck and face tattoos.

New Glasgow Regional Police have lifted the shelter in place Alert early Saturday morning as the investigation indicates that at this time there is no immediate threat to the community.

Police request Trenton and Pictou County residents to be vigilant as police are continuing to search for Christopher McKay. In the interest of public safety call 911 or NGR Police 902 752-1941 and do not confront Christopher McKay.

On late Friday night on July 31, 2020, New Glasgow Regional Police was attempting to locate and arrest Christopher McKay on a Canada Wide Warrant from a Main Street Trenton residence when McKay immediately fled from the scene.

New Glasgow Regional Police, Truro Police K-9, Stellation Police searched for 33-year-old male Christopher McKay and Ronald Jamieson.

On early Saturday morning, police arrested Ronald Jamieson on Main Street Trenton who at the time was accompanying Christopher McKay.

The New Glasgow Regional Police sent out an Alert on various news networks for residents in Trenton to Shelter in Place (lock doors and be vigilant) due to public safety concerns.

New Glasgow Regional continue to search for the 33-year-old male Christopher McKay, described as a white male 5 foot 7, 200 pounds, short hair with neck and face tattoos.
