Celebrations are in order… NS SPCA’s second Veterinary Assistant class has graduated today!

This class has 18 graduates, and this year’s valedictorian is Kristen Kelly

.

Reflecting back to the very first day, Kristen shared, “We did the orientation, but I remember the instructors gave us a tour of the shelter and hospital, and I thought, wow, this is going to be good.”

All students had opportunities to practice hands-on at the Nova Scotia SPCA – Dartmouth Shelter and the SPCA Veterinary Hospital, a unique part of the SPCA College of Animal Welfare experience.

Kristen’s time as a student with the SPCA College of Animal Welfare may be ending, but her time with the SPCA is just starting.

Kristen accepted a job with our SPCA Veterinary Hospital in Dartmouth! When she was offered the position, she immediately answered yes. In fact, she laughs when she remembers being asked if she needed time to think. “Not really,” Kristen explained. “I’m happy here.”

Please join us in congratulating Kristen and all of our graduates.  We’re so proud and can’t wait to see where their passion and skills take them.

P.S. We are still accepting applications for our next class starting in September. To learn more and apply, click here: www.spcacollege.ca ⬅️
