Shelburne RCMP arrest two men in attempted vehicle thefts
Shelburne RCMP has arrested two men after they attempted to steal vehicles in Ohio.
On May 18, 2023, at approximately 2:20 p.m., an off-duty Shelburne RCMP officer observed two men attempting to gain access to a truck that was parked at a local business on Ohio Rd. in Ohio. The off-duty officer remained at the scene and contacted the Shelburne Detachment to request that on duty members attend.
While additional members were responding, the two men fled into the woods. RCMP Police Dog Services were requested to assist in locating the men. After several minutes, a second attempted vehicle theft from a carpool lot and multiple sightings of the men by witnesses, the men were located by officers and safely arrested. RCMP officers determined that one of the men was wanted in an Armed Robbery that occurred in the Lockeport area in early February 2023.
