Police charge youth for robbery
Police have charged a youth for a robbery that occurred in Halifax last night.
At approximately 7:55 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Sobeys located at 6990 Mumford Road. A youth stole merchandise, threatened staff with a knife and then fled on foot. The staff were not physically injured.
Officers arrested the youth in the area a short time later. The 17-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial youth court today to face one count each of robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and carrying a concealed weapon.
