Update, 6:30 p.m.: The suspect for whom a dangerous person alert was issued a short time ago in Cumberland County is in custody. There is no threat to the public, and officers are continuing with the investigation.

Update, 6:00 p.m.: The following alert was issued throughout Cumberland County a short time ago. An alert was issued after learning, through the ongoing investigation, that Bradley Gilbert has access to firearms.

Dangerous person alert: RCMP Nova Scotia searching in area of Hwy. 302 in Maccan, Cumberland County, for man who may be armed. Suspect is 26-year-old Bradley Peter Gilbert. Described as white, 6-foot-1, 185 pounds. Brown hair and brown eyes. No clothing description. Gilbert is believed to be on foot. If seen, do not approach, call 9-1-1. If in the area: Close/lock windows and doors. Do not pick up hitch hikers.

Our officers are searching for a man along Hwy. 302, between Mines Rd. and Little Forks Rd. in Maccan, Cumberland County. There’s no threat to public safety at this time. However, members of the public are advised to stay away from the area to allow officers to do their work. Updates will be provided as available.
