Hurricane Fiona Spoiled Food Program Closing
———————————————————
More than 117,000 Nova Scotians have benefited so far from the Fiona Food Cost Reimbursement Program, and there are still two weeks left for others to apply.

The program provides $100 for every household that lost power for at least 48 hours in the aftermath of hurricane Fiona to help cover the cost of spoiled food.

The last day to apply is Friday, December 16. Other Fiona-related programs will remain open.

“We are pleased so many Nova Scotians applied for the financial support we are offering,” said John Lohr, Minister responsible for the Emergency Management Office. “I encourage anyone eligible to receive the food cost reimbursement to apply before the program closes. There are still a number of programs open, including those for people seeking help with tree removal, so if you haven’t applied, now is the time.”

Applications for financial supports for individuals and non-profits, businesses and municipalities, and the agriculture and forestry sector impacted by hurricane Fiona are located at: https://novascotia.ca/hurricane-fiona-support/
