UPDATE –
Police onscene for a Weapons complaint.
Police are currently onscene in the 0-100 block of Rufus Avenue in Halifax.
At 7:26 p.m. police received a call for a man that was assaulted, possibly with a weapon. A man was located suffering from what appears to be non life threatening injuries and has been transported to hospital for care.
The investigation is in its early stages and nothing further is known at this time.
Police have Rufus Avenue blocked to pedestrian and vehicle traffic between Hillcrest Street and Alex Street.
There is no ongoing risk to the public, but police are reminding persons in the area to follow the direction of police officers.
An update will be provided when more information is known.
