New Glasgow Regional Police has charged a Pictou County man for flight from police, dangerous driving and other multiple offences.
On December 15, 2021, at 6:30pm, New Glasgow Regional Police officer was on routine patrol on Marsh Street New Glasgow. The officer activated his emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle took off and fled the area.
The next day on December 16, 2021, at 2:55pm Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit located the vehicle in Stellarton that they recognized from the previous complaint of flight from police and immediately arrested the 27-year-old driver without incident.
The 27-year-old adult male from Pictou County was charged with
Dangerous driving.
Flight from police.
Possession of stolen property.
Two counts of operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited.
Two counts of failing to comply with probation order.
No insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle and other Motor Vehicle Act offences.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on Friday December 17, 2021.
The investigation continues.
