A rally at DFO in Dartmouth is calling attention to the Department of Fisheries and Ocean’s interaction with Mi’kmaw and their Treaty Rights to fish and the current conflicts between the DFO and fishers.
Mi’kmaq have the right to fish for a moderate livelihood which was upheld by the Supreme Court in 1999.
