Road Construction – Larry Uteck Boulevard

Location: Larry Uteck Boulevard, between Starboard Drive and Southgate Drive

Date: Friday, Sept. 10 and Saturday, Sept. 11

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Sackville Cross Road

Location: Sackville Cross Road between Sackville Drive and Bruce Drive

Date: Friday, Sept. 10 and Monday, Sept. 13

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Work details: ​ This work is This work is for pavement rehabilitation.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ The road will be closed except for local traffic. A marked detour will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Gottingen Street

Location: Gottingen Street, between Falkland and Cogswell streets

Date: ​ Thursday, Sept. 9 to Thursday, Sept. 16

Time: 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. on weekdays, and 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 until 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13.

Work details: This work is for installation of storm lines 2030 Gottingen Street.

Traffic impact: Traffic will be down to one lane. Stop and go traffic will take place for this section of Gottingen Street, including stop and go affecting the intersection with Cogswell Street. The sidewalk on the west side of Gottingen Street between Falkland and Cogswell streets will be closed during the evenings and weekend as well.

Location: Lucasville Road, between Hammonds Plains and Cranley roads

Date: ​ Wednesday, Sept. 8 to Thursday, Sept. 9

Time: 12 noon to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday

Location: Windsor Drive, from Allenby Drive to Penny Lane.

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 8 and Thursday, Sept. 9.

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Date: Wednesday, September 8 to Wednesday, September 15

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Work details: This work is related to the Dahlia Active Transportation Connection.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ Traffic will be closed 24 hours per day. A marked detour will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Night Time Road Construction – Coburg Road


Location: 
Coburg Road at the intersection of Vernon and Seymour Streets

Date: ​ ​ ​ Sunday, Sept. 5 to Monday, Sept. 7 (Weather Permitting)

Time: ​ ​ 6 p.m. Sunday night to 6 a.m. Monday morning

Work details: This work is for installation of line markings. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Construction during COVID-19:​ Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.

 

**** Provincial Media Release

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge on Wyse Road is closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111

Roadwork at Exit 4 on Highway 111 and Exit 11, both northbound and southbound, on Highway 118 is expected to be complete Friday, Sept 10.

Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Detours will be in place periodically.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by Sunday, Oct. 31.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103

Highway 103, between exits 9 and 10, has alternating lane closures for roadwork until Thursday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place 24 hours per day.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Three Mile Plains

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 5 will be closed for the construction of a new ramp from Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 6 a.m. until Thursday, Sept. 30.

A detour will be in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River

Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, will be reduced to one lane for approximately one kilometre.

Twinning work continues until 2023.

Signage is in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.
