Weekly Traffic Advisories (Nov 3)

Note: Each week the local listings are expanded and updated. During the week new and updated tasks are added. Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid

 

**** Municipal Release

Rolling Parking Lot Closures – Shubie Park

Location: Shubie Park (both the Picnic Landing and the Off-Leash Area parking lots)

Dates: Beginning Friday, Nov. 10

Work details: Both the Picnic Landing and the Off-Leash Area parking lots at Shubie Park will be paved. This work will require construction equipment and material deliveries over the next three to four weeks.

Traffic impact: Sections of both parking lots will have rolling closures over the course of the work. Residents should expect parking areas to be closed and be vigilant for signage and heavy equipment in the area.

Road Closure – Victoria Road

Location: Victoria Road, from Ochterloney Street to Park Avenue

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 17

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Work details: This work is to accommodate necessary work for water service renewal.

Traffic impact:  A signed detour will be in place and local access for residents maintained.

Evening Traffic Delay – Spring Garden Road

Location: Spring Garden Road, between Queen Street and South Park Street

Dates: Tuesday, Nov. 14 to Friday, Nov. 17

Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night

Work details: This work is to facilitate the installation of public art as part of the Imagine Spring Garden Road project. This will take place during the evenings (for minimal disruption) with rolling street closures along Spring Garden Road between South Park and Queen Street. The installation team will be using a knuckle boom truck to offload and set the sculptures with the intention to take up one side of the street at a time.

Transit impact: Transit will be detoured between Queen Street and South Park Street along Morris Street starting at 7 p.m. each evening until 6 a.m. the next morning.

Traffic impact: Signs and traffic control personnel will direct pedestrians through the work zone.

One block of Spring Garden will be closed at a time, each evening, to complete the installation. Traffic control personnel will direct vehicle traffic around the area.

Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Windmill Road

Location: Windmill Road, from the intersection with Wright Avenue and Victoria Road

Dates: Saturday, Nov. 4 to Sunday, Nov. 19 (weekends only)

Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic impact: A stop and go routine of traffic to be maintained and traffic control personnel will also be on-site while work is underway. Pedestrian and all emergency access will be maintained. Motorists are advice to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Windmill Road

Location: Windmill Road, from the intersection with Wright Avenue and Victoria Road

Dates: Saturday, Nov. 4 to Sunday, Nov. 19 (weekends only)

Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic impact: A stop and go routine of traffic to be maintained and traffic control personnel will also be on-site while work is underway. Pedestrian and all emergency access will be maintained. Motorists are advice to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway

Location: Bedford Highway, between civic addresses 205 and 216

Dates: Saturday, Nov. 4

Time: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic impact: This work is related to gas line relocation and temporary asphalt restoration. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times.
