Daytime helicopter fire training ???? to be conducted from July 19 to August 4 at Naval Fleet School Atlantic’s Damage Control Division, Herring Cove

Residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality are to be advised that there will be intermittent daytime helicopter firefighter training conducted at Naval Fleet School Atlantic’s Damage Control Division in Herring Cove from Monday, July 19 to Wednesday, August 4, weekdays only (excluding Natal Day) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Atlantic.

These training sessions are conducted as a component of the Damage Control Division’s larger programme to ensure Canadian Armed Forces members remain prepared to respond to fires onboard ships and aircraft in a daytime scenario.

Smoke and flames from the helicopter trainer may be visible from land to members of the public who live or transit in the local area or from water to any vessel transiting along the coast. The public can rest assured that these fires are fully under control, and that safety teams will be on-site monitoring all activities. Any inconvenience to residents and motorist is regretted.
