Yarmouth Municipal RCMP charges man for sexual assault
Yarmouth Municipal RCMP General Investigation Section has charged a man in relation to a sexual assault investigation in Yarmouth.
On May 4, 2021, Yarmouth Municipal RCMP received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted by her male therapist in Yarmouth in December 2020. Police began an investigation, and on May 14, 2021, a 46-year-old man was arrested in Yarmouth without incident.
Dominic Deveau of Yarmouth has been charged with Sexual Assault and was released by a Justice of the Peace on a number of conditions, including that he does not provide counselling or therapeutic services in a professional capacity. Deveau will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on July 19, 2021, at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is continuing, and investigators believe that there may be more victims.
