Can-Am Off-Road Screw Jack recalled due to injury hazard

Common name: Can-Am Off-Road Screw Jack sold as an accessory for Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicles.

Product description: This recall involves the Can-Am Off-Road screw jack sold as an accessory for Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicles. It features an integrated support base and two fixed attachment points. The part numbers are 715003610 and 715006190. The brand Can-Am is clearly visible on the product. No other Can-Am jack resembles the recalled product.

Hazard identified: The screw jack can collapse and cause the lifted vehicle to fall on a person, posing a crush hazard that can result in severe injury or death. As of November 29th, 2020, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in either Canada or the United States. The company has received 4 reports of collapsing jacks in these countries: 2 in Australia, 1 in Belgium and 1 in Mexico. No injuries have been reported.

 

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled screw jack and bring it to an authorized BRP Can-Am Off-Road dealer for a refund.
