Police charge man for robbery

Police have charged a man​ for a robbery that occurred yesterday at the Bluenose Market in Halifax

At 1:49 p.m. on October 10th, 2020​ Halifax Regional Police responded to a Robbery at the Bluenose Market on Titus Street in Halifax.

A lone male entered the store and indicated he had a gun. The gun was not​ seen, however the suspect obtained cash and fled from the store. The staff member was not injured.​ ​ The male fled on foot and some of the clothing he had on during the robbery was later located in the area by responding officers. The suspect had been identified early in the investigation by Police.
The male was arrested after a brief struggle by members of the West Patrol Division. He​ had attempted to flee​ from an apartment​ in the 3000 block of Olivet Street while police were at the door awaiting a search warrant.​ ​ The search warrant was executed and items related to the robbery were recovered however,​ a firearm was not located.

Dewon Gray, 30​ of Halifax​ remains in custody and will appear in​ Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of robbery contrary to section 344 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code and resist arrest contrary to section 129 (a) of the Criminal Code.
