Police search for suspects involved in an altercation on a Halifax Transit bus

On February 22 at approximately 1:45 p.m. police responded to an altercation on a Halifax Transit bus in the Spryfield area. An altercation had begun at the intersection of Herring Cove Road and Dentith Road between passengers on the bus and people driving in two separate vehicles. A physical fight broke out on the bus, with one person using a hammer as a weapon. The bus pulled into a bus stop at Herring Cove Road and Williams Lake Road. The two vehicles also stopped, people exited and approached the bus. One person sprayed a sensory irritant into the bus. Several passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the bus was evacuated. The suspects fled the area both on foot and in their vehicles.

The suspect vehicles are described as a white SUV or Crossover and the other vehicle was silver in colour. One of the suspects is described as an Indigenous man in his 20s with a heavy-set build and dark hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a pattern underneath a dark jacket at the time of the incident.
