RCMP investigating fatal house fire
East Hants District RCMP is investigating a fatal house fire that occurred in Shubenacadie.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. on December 31, East Hants District RCMP and fire services responded to a report of a house fire on Hwy. 215 in Shubenacadie. Two occupants of the home, a 65-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, safely exited the home and were not injured. The third occupant of the home, a 73-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time, however, investigators continue to gather information and evidence.
The investigation is being assisted by the Nova Scotia Office of the Fire Marshal, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service, Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime and RCMP Forensic Identification Services.
