Woman charged for assaulting police officer

On September 14, Cumberland District RCMP attended a home in Collingwood to arrest a woman who was breaching her court-ordered release conditions.

When police arrived at the home on Wyvern Rd., they arrested 22-year-old Candace Haines, and during the arrest, Haines assaulted one of the police officers. She was​ taken into custody without further incident and taken to court. Haines has been charged with​ several offences:

• ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Breach of Conditions (5 counts)
• ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Breach of Probation

Following her appearance in Amherst Provincial Court, Haines​ was​ released. She is​ scheduled to return to court​ on September 21.
