Extended hours for Early Voting in the Provincial General Election
The provincial general election has extended hours for early voting until 8 pm today Thursday, November 21 and tomorrow Friday, November 22, 2024. All early voting locations in the province are open today and tomorrow from 9 am – 8 pm. Extended hours provides more time for voters in Nova Scotia to take advantage of early voting.
Early voting in Nova Scotia is done by secure e-Ballot. e-Ballot allows fast counting of early votes when the polls close on election night. This means the results of the provincial general election will be returned quickly and efficiently. e-Ballot will only be offered during early voting. Traditional paper ballots will be used for voting on election day.
Voters can vote at any early voting location in the province until Saturday, November 23. Early voting is closed on Sunday, November 24, 2024. On Monday, November 25, 2024, voters can vote at the returning office in their electoral district from 9 am to 6 pm.
On election day, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, voters in Nova Scotia may vote at their assigned voting location or the returning office in their electoral district. Voting will be open from 8 am – 8 pm on election day. Voters can find their election day voting location by entering their address in the ‘where do I vote’ tool on the Elections Nova Scotia website (electionsnovascotia.ca) or call 1-800-565-1504.
Eligible voters in the provincial general election must be 18 years of age or older on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, a Canadian citizen, and have lived in Nova Scotia since April 27, 2024 (six months before the writ of election was issued).
