This Sunday marked the 42nd annual Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Memorial Service.

The service honoured peace officers based in Nova Scotia who died in the line of duty. It is a humbling reminder of the selflessness and dedication of those who lost their lives while serving others.

Peace officers, first responders, civilian employees, military personnel and volunteers marched from Police Headquarters on Gottingen Street to Grand Parade.

Participants from across the province then assembled at the Nova Scotia Fallen Peace Officers’ Monument for a brief ceremony where dignitaries made remarks and laid wreaths along with peace officers and family members in memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice.
