Weekly Traffic Advisories (11 Oct)

**** Municipal Release

Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road

Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River

Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025

Time: 24/7

Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Hornes Road Bridge

Location: Hornes Road Bridge, between Cow Bay Road and Caldwell Road

Date: July 2, 2024 to November 2024

Time: 24/7

Work details: This closure is to facilitate the rebuilding of the bridge.

Traffic impact: A signed detour will be in place.

Halifax Transit will be re-routed and the following stops will be closed:

Hornes Road at civic 12 (2221)

Hornes Road at civic 42 (2222)

Hornes Road at civic 74 (2223)

Hornes Road after Cow Bay Road (7147)

Caldwell Road after Hornes Road (8663)

Hornes road after Scott Drive (8662)

Hornes Road at civic 41 (8661)

Hornes Road at civic 65 (8660)

Location: Lacewood Drive between Highway 102 and Regency Park Drive

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 25 to Thursday, Oct. 31

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This is required for gas service installation and road repairs.

Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Windsor Street

Location: Windsor Street, from Cork to London streets

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 15 to Friday, Oct. 18

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This is to facilitate road and sidewalk repairs, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: An altered centreline will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway

Location: Bedford Highway, from Bayview Road to Sherbrooke Drive

Date: Friday, Oct. 18

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes asphalt repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place on the outbound lanes while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Young Street

Location: Young Street, between Connolly and Oxford streets

Date: Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20

Time: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday

Work details: This is to facilitate service installations to 3040 Oxford Street.

Traffic impact: Detours will be in place for this road closure. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Roundabout closure – Burnside Drive at Akerley Boulevard

Location: Burnside Drive at Akerley Boulevard (new roundabout)

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16 and Thursday, Oct. 17 

Time: 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Work details: This work is in support of final asphalt paving of the new roundabout.

Traffic impact: Traffic will be detoured via Joseph Zatzman Drive, Wright Avenue and Williams Avenue. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Main Street, between Hartlen Street and Gordon Avenue

Date: Friday Oct. 18 and Monday Oct. 21

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This is required for gas main installation and road repairs.

Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16 to Wednesday, Oct. 30 (overnight work)

Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work details: This is to facilitate road repairs in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16 to Friday, Nov. 1

Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Location: South Street, from Lemarchant Street to Seymour Street.

Date: Wednesday, Oct. 16 to Friday, Oct. 18

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Work details: This is required for gas service installation and road repairs.

Traffic impact: One-way traffic and stop-and-go traffic control will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Forest Hills Parkway

Location: Forest Hills Parkway, at the intersection of Circassion Drive

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Wednesday, Oct. 16

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This is to facilitate a utility installation at 1 Circassion Drive.

Traffic impact: Traffic signals at the intersection will be turned off while work is underway, with traffic control personnel in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
