Queens District RCMP will be increasing patrols in North Queens County, particularly over the next few weekends, in response to complaints about underage drivers operating off-highway vehicles (OHVs) in the area

Over the past several weeks, officers have received numerous reports from concerned community members about minors illegally operating OHVs at high speeds and often late at night. These activities violate provincial regulations and pose a significant safety risk to the young riders and the community.

The community is reminded that:

• Queens County has no designated roads or highways listed under the Nova Scotia Off-Highway Vehicles Act.
• OHV operators must have a valid driver’s licence, riders must wear helmets, and children between the ages of 6 and 15 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Through increased patrols and enforcement, the Queens District RCMP is committed to ensuring the safety of all residents in Queens County. By working together, we can help prevent accidents and maintain and safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
