Traffic Delay – Lucasville Road
Location: Lucasville Road at the bridge over the Sackville River
Date: Monday, May 6 until early 2025
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is to facilitate the rehabilitation of the Lucasville Bridge. This is in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Temporary traffic signals will be installed to control traffic flow through the work site as work progresses on the Lucasville Bridge rehabilitation project. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Street Closure – Burnside Drive
Location: Burnside Drive, between Akerley Boulevard and Wright Avenue
Date: April 29, 2024 to June 2024
Time: 24/7
Work details: This work is needed to support the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Akerley Boulevard and Burnside Drive.
Traffic impact: Detours will be in place for vehicles and pedestrians.orists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Beaver Bank Road
Location: Beaver Bank Road, from Welkin Drive to Windgate Drive
Date: Monday, May 13 to Friday, May 17
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Work details: This work includes concrete curb removal and preparation, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Bedford Highway
Location: Bedford Highway, near civic address 972 Bedford Highway
Date: Wednesday, May 8 to Friday, May 10
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work Details: This work is to support underground utility work.
Traffic impact: Two-way traffic will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Main Road
Location: Main Road, from Pleasant Street to Howard Avenue
Date: Monday, May 6 to Friday, May 10
Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate road repair, in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: There will be lane drops in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Barrington Street, from MacKay Bridge off ramp to Devonshire Avenue
Date: Sunday, April 28, 2024
Time: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NEW WORK

INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105, Glendale to River Denys
The section of Highway 105 from Exit 2 to Exit 3 will be reduced to one lane for paving from Monday, May 6, to Sunday, June 30.
Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place Monday to Friday from sunrise to sunset.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Seal Island Bridge
The Seal Island Bridge will be closed to traffic the week of May 6 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. There will be five overnight closures; the first is Monday night, and the last one will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, May 10.
There will not be a signed detour. Motorists will need to use an alternate route based on vehicle weight.

CONTINUING WORK

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are on Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from the Kennedy Hill intersection to Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice because of a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road, South Middleboro
Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed until Friday, May 17, for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge.
Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmonds Road and Keers Mill Road.
Vehicles more than four metres wide need an alternate route because of the width of structures on the detour route.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Route 366
A section of Route 366 is closed because of a culvert failure. Only local traffic is allowed from East Amherst to Port Howe. A detour is available via Trunk 6.
The culvert is expected to be replaced this summer.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 from Exit 4A to Exit 4C has lane reductions and intermittent road closures in both directions for the construction of the Highway 107–Highway 102 interchange until further notice.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange), Halifax
Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street will continue until further notice.
Traffic control is on-site.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Victoria Bridge, Kingsville
Highway 105 near Exit 2 (Riverside Road) is reduced to one lane until Friday, May 31, for maintenance to the Victoria Bridge.
Traffic lights are in place. Work takes place weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
The Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.
